The purpose of this Association shall be to promote the welfare of the hay and
forage industry in Central Oregon and to support education, youth in agriculture,
and forage research.

COHGA uses a portion of the dues to fun research projects in Central Oregon. Did you know that COHGA funded research to develop the LESA and LEPA systems? Other projects included Potassium rates on Mixed Grass Hay in Tumalo and pest removal on Alfalfa Hay in Terrebonne.
Central Oregon Forage Seminar is a cooperative effort with the OSU Extension Service and COHGA to provide forage related educational programming and to provide a local venue for obtaining ODA pesticide recertification credits. COHGA also works with the USDA Market News Service to maintain and expand Central Oregon Hay Market Report, so buyers and sellers can make informed decisions.
COHGA provides scholarships annually to graduating high school seniors in Central Oregon who are active in agriculture. Stock dividends, dues and donations fund the scholarship program. Contact your high school college career readiness center for an application. Once received (due in April), an interview will be scheduled. Winners announced in May.
